What exactly is going on here?

Cryptocurrency was made famous by Bitcoin, but Bitcoin is designed just to transact and store ownership of Bitcoin itself. 

We are using a successor to Bitcoin called Ethereum which allows for arbitrary computer code to be executed on the blockchain and the results of the execution to be stored forever. 

Normally code is run on a server somewhere and you basically need to trust the person running the server. 

Ethereum lets everyone execute the code, show each other what result they got, and agree that the code was executed properly and fairly.

We have written code that lives on the blockchain that anyone can use to buy and sell MetaMariana's with anyone else in the world. 

An interesting aspect of this system is that we eventually have no control over the code running MetaMariana! 

Once the NFTs are released it onto the blockchain it will become permanently embedded there and can no longer be modified by anyone. 

This is scary for us as developers because we worry about bugs, but it is also a very powerful feature of the system. 

It allows a user to verify that there are indeed only 10,000 MetaMariana's, check that we can't steal them from you, and basically make sure that everything we told you about the code is true.

The MetaMariana Fair Distribution Release Date (Whitelist) is the 27th of May at 9am EST, 12pm PST. It's expected the minting will be sold out in one day. The next place to buy MetaMarianas is from the official collection on Opensea.
 How do I become a verified holder?
When you join the MetaMariana Discord, you will have access to “The Museum” and Community chats open to everyone. When you have a MetaMariana your Metamask wallet, go to #verify-metamariana-holder. Type: !join . This will prompt CollabLand (a Discord/ Metamask verification bot) to send you a DM asking you to connect to your Metamask. This will verify you have a MetaMariana and will automatically assign you a new role of “MetaMariana” giving you access to all the membership giveaways and channels within the Discord.
 Is there a benefit to own more than one MetaMariana?
When you own a MetaMariana you will have full access to our private Discord channels and be a member of the MetaMariana Club. However, when you own more than one MetaMariana, you will earn more Mariana Token airdrops every week.
 What is a TOKEN?
TOKEN are the psuedocurrency of the MetaMariana. TOKENS are a Security tokens offered in an STO and are actual financial securities that are backed by something tangible like the assets, profits, or revenue of the company, such as the entire MetaMariana NFT Collection. TOKENS will be a reward MetaMariana owners and yield a return each week. 
 How do I claim TOKEN airdrops?
TOKEN's will be automatically airdropped to MetaMariana holders possibly via the Polygon (MATIC) network. They will appear in your Metamask wallet and are viewable on the MetaMariana website and on your profile on Opensea. 
 How can I connect my MetaMask with Polygon?
Our developer at MetaMariana will work toward making an automatic switch point when you are on a specific page of the MetaMariana website. Simply click and you will get a prompt from Metamask enabling you to switch to the Polygon network. Alternatively, when you open Metamask you will see “Ethereum Mainnet” at the top on the window. Click on the little down arrow on the right-side of it and select “Polygon”.
 How will the FUND operate?
It will operate freely but will be open to suggestions and recommendations of its community. A specific 'recommend art' channel will be opened on discord as well as 'voting polls' where the Fund will frequently ask the community's opinion on specific nfts. The Curators Club members on the other hand will have control over the Fund's activity once a month.
 What will the FUND purchase?
It will focus on acquiring land in the Metaverse and build out a museum for MetaMariana holders. Also, the FUND may purchase other land to build a MetaMariana Resort in the Metaverse.

We will announce the MetaMariana NFTs IDs that won a print on Discord and their list will also be available on www.metamariana.com.
